Radio Maria Ireland makes history

Written by on June 12, 2015

Radio Maria Ireland’s first-ever live mass transmission outside of our radio studios (at St. Anthony’s Business Park, Ballymount Road) took place on 17th May 2015.  Fr. Richard Ebejer SDB from the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Dublin kindly invited Radio Maria Ireland to join in the celebrations for Venerable Matt Talbot marking the 90th anniversary of his death.

The next live transmission followed very soon after this on 12th June 2015.  The venue was the Poor Clares, St. Damian’s Monastery, Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The broadcast transmitted part of the Annual Global Rosary Relay and was followed by Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Michael Duffy.

Global Rosary

The Annual Global Rosary Relay is a simple idea – each of the 84 participating shrines in 46 countries prays a particular mystery of the Rosary during a particular half-hour on the selected day, giving thanks to God for our priests and imploring the protection and loving care of Our Lady for all her priestly sons. The Annual Global Rosary Relay took place this year on the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
